A Little Glamour For Your Hair...

It's like there just isn't enough time in a day...or my health decides to take me for a whirl (and not in the fun kinda way) my mind is flooded with designs I want to make! Unfortunately, reality sets in and nothing in that arena gets done...
So, at least I can share some pieces I have had the chance to make in the last few months. (typical it takes forever for me to share them here)
lol
I MUST confess, due to popular demand...and many inquiries for custom pieces, I FINALLY have a few of these to purchase ready made in my shop!
A few clients had asked me why I didn't have any of these styles in my shop. I actually told them because the "basic idea" of this can be found all over. What really caught me off guard was when they agreed but kindly added that they would be nothing like something I would design.  Full of pride and blushing for joy I decided to create a few with my own twist to carry in my shop.

Wanting something Ultra Romantic I designed this imagining gauze and ethereal dreams.
I used vintage Japanese millinery babies breath and dried sprigs with the feathers. I also chose to use a much finer silver wire to create more delicate organic branches. Of course, it wouldn't be mine without some SPARKLE.

Ivory Feather Fascinator Gwyneth

With Romantic Raina I wanted to showcase the lovely bleached ivory Peacock eye. Notice unlike many other pieces you will find on the market my feather pieces aren't frayed and cut. The edges are smooth and plush. (notice the goose base) I am REALLY picky with feathers and it's my pet peeve when I see feather pieces with the feathers all matted and stringy looking...you KNOW what I mean. lol
Bleached feathers are tricky and I think I found some beautiful quality pieces to create this with. I LOVE texture and enjoy mixing all different types of feathers to create nice movement. This piece has a wonderful vintage effect which I believe is very warm and inviting.

Feather Fascinator Romantic Raina

This is just Dreamy. I used a vintage looking rhinestone flower as the base and then hand wired in a lucite leaf and flowers. I like the multi dimensional effect this creates...unfortunately, not as well seen in my two dimensional photos. The extra added rhinestones make the white piece really pop and sparkle.
White Feather Fascinator Coy Catherine

I have a few more pieces but need to take photos on the mannequin.
...figure I'll let you be excited to see them next time!

Glittering and Glamorous Halloween Pieces!

It's that time of the year again when we can all have an excuse to really dress up and have fun I wanted to make sure to share a few of my Sexy Halloween inspired Glamorous pieces!

Black is so challenging to photograph for the novice like me however, the piece is so elegant and billowy in person. I sprinkled olive Swarovski crystals in a playful spray that flows up the feathers. It's difficult to see in the photos but I wanted to share that little detail!

This piece is also wonderful pinned to a dress as a flower brooch as well as attached to a sash.

Beautiful hand dyed a deep dark almost blood red color with a sparkling Swarovski crystal center!

Duchess Silk Satin is Sooo PRETTY.

I just finished a custom design flower set made from ivory duchess silk satin. After paying over $60.00 for a yard of fabric I realized just how luxurious they are!
LOL!
I actually used almost all the material making these. They are nice and FULL which gives them a lot of texture.
I made these 100% from scratch with traditional millinery techniques and finished them off with Silver Swarovski crystal rhinestones centers as requested by the Bride.

New Pieces...

...okay, maybe not all "NEW NEW" but newly revised.
You know how I am always talking about how I have like 60-80 pieces not listed yet just sitting in my storage areas! I get sidetracked (A.D.D. seriously, I have that) with orders and such or the weather isn't giving me good lighting...or I just couldn't figure out how to color correct the photos...and the list of excuses goes on! I really do have pieces I made for New Years 2008. So ridiculous! I was freaking out so much with the knocking off of my stuff I wanted to copyright them first and then I just forgot about them! I'm a freak I know and I have gotten A LOT better about not looking to see who's knocking me off anymore. It wasn't worth the grief!
LOL!
So that's why you'll see some pieces reminiscent of not soo long ago designs.
I'm in the process of listing them so you should find them in my Etsy shop soon!

Slow Sailing...but still designing new pieces!

Yeah, still dealing with the eczema.
Sometimes I can't even leave the apartment I'm so uncomfortable.
ANYWAY, *thinking positive* I know I need to get myself back on the blogging wagon!
lol

I've been busy just trying to settle into my new apartment and make rent!
:P
OH, BTW, I just have to say that I was rented this apartment and told it had air conditioning...remember the few posts ago about getting it fixed? Well, there is NO AIR CONDITIONING INSTALLED IN THIS APARTMENT! Even though, before I moved I was VERBALLY TOLD BY THE MANAGER that it had both central air AND heat.
Now, after the years of reading this blog...and knowing my health issues...DOES ANYONE THINK I WOULD RENT AN APARTMENT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THAT DID NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING?
UH...HELLO?!!!!
Yeah...I'll keep you all informed.
I'll also add, I can't afford to move again.

OK!
Now FUN STUFF!!!!

So, I have been busy creating new designs for my clients and wanted to share!
I always like the vintage vibe and when I hand dyed this piece I kept that in mind. I like how old photos make color muted and soft. This pink is almost a "bush" tone.
Bridal Hair Flower Shabby Chic Pink

Bridal Choker Necklace Vivacious Vivienne

Here are a few that have already sold but I thought you might want to see them any way.

Beautiful Combs

Quick share!
So I have been packing and trying to get myself ready to move.
I am TRYING to not let myself get all stressed out!
I finally finished a few combs that I wanted to share.
I think they are A LOT prettier in person.
...one of these days I just HAVE to get my photo skills up to par!
I should have these available in my shop soon!
I actually painted the brass leaf base with a gorgeous matte silver metallic paint and wire wrapped all the Swarovski crystals and Rhinestones on anti-tarnish silver wire. They REALLY SPARKLE in person!

Fluttering Beauties

I forgot I hadn't shared these pieces that I listed.
I was feeling inspired with the platinum colored silk and wanted to do something a little more Elegant fantasy based.
I also realized that "champaign" colored can be very different depending on who is presenting it.
Over the years I have purchase various silks labeled "champaign" and am always amused at the various different colors of fabric I receive.
This silk was sold to me as "champaign" colored and I think it's almost a platinum/beige/goldish/champaign color.
LOL!!!
Anyway, with this said, here is Bridal Hair Flower Fluttering Flora

I also recently listed this piece: Bridal Fascinator Delicate Serenade

This is another one of those really challenging to photograph pieces.
It is just SO MUCH PRETTIER in person and just looks like a white "wash" of color in the photos. The vintage inspired brooch piece is really a great design because it not only has various sizes of Swarovski crystals which REALLY sparkle but there are these cool iced glass marquis cut pieces that remind me of 50's style jewelry.
Of course, I added a LOT of smaller various sizes of clear Swarovski crystals that radiate from the focal piece and the whole thing TOTALLY shines when light hits it.
Perhaps in the near future I'll even become a better photographer!
:P

I have another Fluttering Beauty piece but I haven't downloaded the pictures for that one yet.
Hopefully I'll have that one to share in a later post.
