Random Stuff

Well, I just was able to upload the 66 pictures that I took of new pieces I recently made.
Unfortunately, I can't use any of them and I trashed the whole thing. I should have known better then to think I could take pictures indoor and have the color not be distorted.
*sigh*
I have to take everything all over again.
I still have about a week in this hotel.
To be honest, I am NOT looking forward to returning to my apartment.
I realized how SMALL my bathroom was without anything in it (toilet, tub, sink) I don't think a twin size bed could have fit in that space! CRAZY small! I never realized it was THAT small!
LOL!
Even though my hotel room is smaller than my apartment, since it's basically a square, it feels soo much bigger! I am almost dreading having to go back.
...I suppose that's not good huh?

Did I mention my cat has FLEAS?!
In the 12 or so years that we have been together he has had fleas only ONCE before!
...and that was because the entire complex I lived in had dogs and cats (in a no pet building) and someone was infested! I am really upset that he has them! There isn't anything I can do either because every time they vacuum it will simply infest this room again. I mean, I gave him a bath and only saw 2 fleas wash off...but that leads to MORE eggs...so I know there must be fleas in this room! EEEEeeeeew!
I'm going to go to see if I can find a non toxic natural flea control method to limit them from feasting on me! I literally get eaten alive...so, I am kind of scared! :/

Well, I have to get up early tomorrow to go get 4 new tires for my car!
Ugh...just got it back from the shop after $400.00 of basic maintenance.
I still have an easy $300.00 more to go!
75,000 miles and only 3 years old!
Having a hybrid has it's advantages but it definitely costs more for all the basic care. I think all the money I save on gas goes to maintenance cost! BUT, it's still worth being in that commuter lane!!!! LOL!!!

Temporarily Misplaced

I'm in a hotel for the next 2 weeks...so, I'm not sure how often I'll be able to log and show you new items. I have several pieces that I need to photograph...I have no idea how they will turn out in here. I choose NOT to open the drapes since I don't want anyone to see all of my supplies and stuff. I feel bad but you NEVER know and I'd just cry if I got it all stolen!
I have several ideas that I am going to start on so I am pretty excited.
My poor kitty is scared from all the noises outside from the cleaning people and residents. Luckily I came back in time when they were cleaning my room so I prevented my cat from running out. He was hiding under the bed...but ran out to the bathroom when she started vacuuming. Oh, I'd be beside myself if he got out! So, I make sure I'm here when they come around. Better safe then sorry I say!

Ah, something a little new for me! It's fun.

...and the retaking photos goes on!
LOL!
Well, at least I think I am happier with the "look" of the shop now that I am changing all of the "floral" pieces to the dark background. I am still deciding if I like it.
There are a few more that I have to change the photographs to. I keep looking through my shop to decide if I am satisfied with it or not...LOL!

I finally took some time to work on some jewelry last night.
Something totally different yet very Mikiye.
I'm trying Antique Brass for the first time. I LOVE the color and I have ALWAYS LOVED anything that looked vintage. I have collected all sorts of findings in copper and brass. It's a different look and a different feel so I am excited to see what I come up with.
So far I am enjoying it. I am taking a bit longer designing since I am learning what I like mixed together. I am currently working on two necklaces mixing in Jade. One of the necklaces is a double strand...VERY long...I was thinking 1920's Madam Dragon Lady.
It was something completely different when I started so who knows what it will look like in the end!

NEW NEW Photos...

I feel like I haven't logged in FOREVER!
LOL!
After all of my hard work taking new pictures with the colored backgrounds I realized that I didn't like the colors I used!
SO, I have been taking NEW pictures with a charcoal/black background.
It's challenging. Even though I am using the SAME color paper it photographs different depending on what I am taking a picture of!
Live and learn.
I am sure there is something basic I am doing wrong and don't know it! lol!
I haven't worked on jewelry in days and I am missing it!

Here's a few before and after pics...work in progress!
If anyone wants to give me a bit of advice or what they think PLEASE DO!
FEEDBACK is WANTED!
I like adding the colored background to the pieces I have chosen so far because I think they "look" better. Many of the pieces I have photographed this way were getting washed out against the white background.
NOW my concern is that the shop NO LONGER looks professional and coherent with the random colored background photos mixed in with all the crisp white background photos.

FEEDBACK PLEASE?!!!?!?!?
