TIRED

So I get a call on Tuesday afternoon for a job to fly to Arizona and back. I would be working on a regular client of mine from Access Hollywood and I would fly with her there, do her makeup and come home. It turned into a no sleep event! OK. I slept for 45 MINUTES. I left my house to the airport at 8:45p.m. and let's just say I didn't check in to the hotel until after 4:00 a.m!!!! The flight was running 3 hours late! So we were sitting in the airport for like 5 hours!(which I know isn't that bad...but when it's LATE I get TIRED and want to go to sleep!) Ugh. Then we had to be up and out the door by 6 which turned into 7. I was up at 5:30 getting ready and I had to make her camera ready to interview Aretha Franklin. Pretty cool. I have seen and worked with several celebrities but never been in person with an ICON. I didn't talk to Aretha but it was really cool to be there. So, in the end the interview didn't take as long as we thought to get done and I got to get a flight home around 12:25 and was in v bed by 3 something... I was SO tired but I had to eat! LOL!
Been sleeping for the most part since! I did get up and eat some soup last night and went back to sleep!
I'm off again, this time to New York, for a family function. I'll be leaving Friday and coming home Monday. It'll be fun. I never go anywhere so I figure I will have fun! LOL! I am having anxiety on leaving...I'm one of those people that you have to drag out and then after the fact I admit that I am having a great time! LOL! Yeah, I'm one of those!

Been working on a couple of custom pieces while breaking in between to add this awesome little PayPal widget on the right side of the page! How cool to easily be able to simply click and buy! I picked a few key aesthetically pleasing pieces to add to this shopping experience. Obviously there are MANY MORE beautiful pieces to choose from in my shop! LOL!

Also, I just joined "Fuel My Blog". It seems like a pretty cool connection and place to network and find other really interesting blogs!
So, ANYONE READING THIS BLOG I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE it if you would take a moment to click on the above right hand corner and put in a vote for my blog! Apparently, the more votes I get the more exposure possibilities! So, I need all your help!!
MUCH APPRECIATED!

I've been a bit strained for time and I promise to get some new posts on designers I've come across and have been aching to share with you!
SUCH TALENT!
LOL!
I get excited just thinking about it!

FINALLY! NEW PIECES!

WORKING!
WORKING!
I started this at 10:00 a.m. setting up to FINALLY take pictures!
I actually took 168 photos and have been working on them in Photoshop since 12:00 this afternoon! I am TIRED!
After ALL THIS I just had to give you a sneak peek at a few of my new pieces!
I haven't even named anything yet!
I am so glad that I finally took the time to take pictures of everything!
I like to complete several pieces before I photograph them since it is such a process. I REALLY try hard to get the colors as close as possible. Gemstones are such a challenge. I mean, I have purchased items and they look NOTHING like what the photo looked like. I am not sure if they tried to fix the colors. I understand that many people might not have access to color correcting. Plus, I know that the color can vary from each monitor but at least I know that I made the effort and got them looking like the real deal on mine!

These are my favorite new earrings! They are SOO TINY and CUTE!

These are such an unusual milky mauve/gray tone. Really pretty in person though.

I have been working on jewelry and doing A LOT of research on the web for my next project designs. My head is tired from all that staring at the computer.
Plus, I am trying to get myself back into Massage Therapist mode. Yeah, did I mention I am a certified massage therapist?
LOL!
I really enjoy the therapeutic aspects of massage. I am pretty excited to get back into it. It is necessary for me to make extra income while my jewelry business grows...*thinking positive* and well, since business isn't very steady...AND Mama has RENT TO PAY!
Mostly, I just don't want to go back into retail.
LOL!
I know, I know, it's really not that bad and what I was doing I was REALLY good at it and was paid well. Unfortunately, my body isn't being as cooperative as I want it to be and that has kept me from going back!
Everything will work its way out in the end...I know it!
*positive thinking, positive thinking*

I have 19 new pairs of earrings, 3 bracelets, and 2 necklaces that I NEED to take pictures of. I am SO LAGGING!
Since I am living off of one electrical plug in my living room,(since my Landlord hasn't got an electrician in here for over 8 months), it's a process to have to unplug this to plug in that to my surge protector!

I was looking at some lovely chalcedony that I wanted SO MUCH TO BUY but my finances just won't allow it.
I was kinda sad for a few...*sigh*
But, I know I will bounce back and I can still make beautiful jewelry with what I have now!
:P

I Will Miss You Pooki

This is a sweater I bedazzled for her one Christmas..apparently my Mom said she REALLY liked to wear it!

In memory of my Mom's most adorable and loved Shih Tzu Pooki, I am dedicating this entry. To the FIRST doggie I wasn't allergic to. It was INSTANT LOVE! I never knew about the whole hair VS fur back then. We snuggled and slept together when I went up to visit my Mom ages ago. *giggles at the memory* She was the SWEETEST dog. I will miss her SO MUCH! My Mom's husband actually found her one rainy day covered in mud by a freeway exit. Can you believe anyone would throw a dog out like that? They actually didn't even know what she was till they bathed her! They had fliers made and posted signs in the local vet offices...no one ever claimed her. So, she became ours! I loved her. My Mom is SO heartbroken. So, I thought this post can turn a sad event into smiles below.

We LOVE our four legged fur buddies or so I like to call them and what more fun is it then to dress them up?!
Here are a few designers I have found on Etsy that I just HAD TO SHARE!
The pictures alone are worth it!
With the surge in pet attire the last several years I am not disappointed in the fabulousness I found by Indie designers!

This is a "Bumble Bee Dog Halloween Costume" by Deejann
I can't even say anything! He is just TOO CUTE!!!!!
"Mister Moo is modeling this wonderful outfit for you. He is an average sized Shih tzu so this costume should work for any dog of his size. I believe he weighs about 13 lbs now. The antenna are made from pipe cleaners and Pom Poms and they stay on the puppies head with elastic around the chin area. The costume is made from felt and has the cutest little bumble bee wings made out of black mesh material. The costume fastens together with velcro on the chest area of the dog and under the belly."

"Reversible Dog Coat - Hound Hoodie - Eco Friendly - Blue Berry Lime Green" by
anniessweatshop
As soon as I saw these two I wanted to giggle with joy! They look SO WARM and COZY!
...and how could I forget TOTALLY HIP!
"Fun 2 in 1 Hound Hoodie! Smart and steezey (style + ease) dog coat with a hood that's made from recycled plastic. Pick two colors to trick out your eco friendly pooch."

"FUZZY funky purple Dog Coat Jacket medium PUG"
Now all You have to do is simply look at the expression on this pooch! You gotta get one for yours!
"Aunt Pitty Pat, my beautiful blind pug model, is modeling this cute lined jacket. This is a top made of a thick fuzzy faux fur fabric, and the jacket has full coverage on the bodice front. It attaches at the front with velcro. it will fit medium sized dogs, like pugs, French bulldogs, Boston terriers, etc, It will accomodate a girth of up to 21" and it is 11" long. A one of a kind, unique vest for your fido lady."

All I have to say is that I about Squealed when I saw this one!
*giggles*
"These adorable tutus and head piece can be custom made for you best friend!!!
Your little friend will feel so beautiful in this custom made outfit.
THIS TUTU HAS MORE THAN 9 YARDS of material in it.
There is White NET/TULLING WITH AN OVER SKIRT of colored tulle or lace of your choice from my array of colors.

ALSO AT THE BACK OF THE ELASTIC THERE IS A DOME for easy on and off of the tutu

At the front at the tutu there is a matching satin bow and a fancy button for decoration.
Also with this comes a NEW WONDERFUL matching TUTU HEAD BAND."

OH MY GOODNESS have you EVER seen something SO CUTE?!!!
I actually found this AFTER i finished this post and HAD to ADD IT!!!
This design is also by
deejann.
"Here is the cutest head band for your special pup. They are handcrafted with love. They measure approx. 5 inch in diameter and fit on a standard sized Shih tzu. You will see in the pictures both of my puppies modeling this most wonderful head band. Would be great for Halloween or any special occasion."

Featured in Capitola Girl's "SATURDAY SPARKLE"

As ALWAYS I am THRILLED and TICKLED when I am written about and featured.
This is no exception!
Capitola Girl is a fellow designer (and self proclaimed bead-stringing fanatic)that has created a wonderful way to share and spread the work of other independent jewelry designers in her blog. (link on the right) Each week she highlights a designer that has a piece with "lots of sparkle" in her "Saturday Sparkle" articles.
This Saturday I was chosen to be the selected artist!
I am TRULY honored as her article was so well written and I was gushing with pride and appreciation while I was reading it.
As anyone knows who has been reading my blog, I have been under A LOT of personal stress and it's times like this that I forget why I design jewelry. By reading what a fellow artisan had to say about My work REALLY allowed me to stop for that moment and FEEL appreciation for what I have been given a gift to be able to do. I THANK Susan, Capitola Girl's designer behind the name, for allowing me to reevaluate what I am doing in my life as a designer and appreciate what my hard work can accomplish. I get SO caught up in just living my life that I forget to appreciate others as well as myself.
Of Course selfless promotion...PLEASE CHECK OUT HER ARTICLE and also the rest of her blog as it is an entertaining READ!

VALENTINE'S DAY Jewelry

Here are some Valentine's Day inspired designs.
I used Oriental vintage Lucite rose beads and Brass leaf pendants with my favorite Swarovski crystals and 14K gold-fill chain and wire. Feminine and playful was my idea. I think they fit that perfectly! All are SO CUTE on! Definitely KAWAII when you wear them!

BUSY! BUSY! BUSY!

Well, looks like I am forced to take a break from apartment hunting.
It has been a pain in the neck for sure! Bills, bills, bills...and $300.00 more for rent. Everything has been too small OR too far away!
*sigh*
Found 2 BIG apartments but it would be a pain to commute from where they were.

So, I think I'm just going to make the best of it here for now.

Last weekend I was busy working on an Indie Film. That's why I was trying to play catch up all this week! It was a lot of work but great fun! The crew was awesome to work with and looks like they definitely want me on the team for all future films productions!
I am totally pleased! I figure if I have both writers, both producers and talent saying they loved me and want to work with me again I have a great chance that I will!
Oh, prior to designing jewelry I have been a professional makeup artist for years now. I've been in the field over 15! I love that there is always something to learn!
I'm glad I fit in so well with the others.

KAWAII Accessories

SO, I FINALLY took pictures of the new items in my shop!
I finished the CUTEST hair sticks! They are pastel colors with little bunnies jumping around between Sakura flowers! Of course I added all sorts of Swarovski crystals on the design and now they SPARKLE and SHINE!!! Just like I LOVE them!
LOL!

Apartment hunting is absolutely NO FUN!
It's hard enough to find a place and then when NO ONE calls you back and or does not e-mail you either...it gets frustrating! Especially if it looks like a GOOD ONE!
*sigh*
...And the hunt goes on!

The irony is that I actually got approved for the apartment below and declined to take it...I suppose everything happens for a reason.

Apartment Hunting Like MAD

Been VERY sidetracked after New Years scrambling to find an apartment to move to. So, My entries might be a little slim for the next few weeks....or not. LOL! I am VERY excited to look at a place this afternoon in Long Beach! I just got my rent raised $300.00 (since I wasn't originally on a lease) and for the same price I will now have to pay there are WAY BETTER and NICER places to live! I have a positive warm fuzzy feeling about this apartment I am going to see. *sigh* Wish me LUCK!
