Photo Shoot Designs

A few weeks ago I was approached to design a few pieces for a Vivid Magazine shoot...I am waiting for the magazine issue to come out so I haven't seen any pictures yet.
It was SO MUCH FUN since I rarely get to make what I LIKE!
LOL!
You know what I mean. I am always designing pieces for my clients so I rarely have time to make something creative from my own imagination.

I took some preliminary pics on my favorite mannequin head but I can hardly wait to see these on the model.
Note to self: "Black is a nightmare for a novice photographer!"
I did my best and they will have to do!
LOL!

I don't have them in my shop.
I am working on my personal website so depending on time line I might just list it in there...but that might be months away before it goes live so who knows!

What the stylist told me for her inspiration was sorta Victorian meets punk/goth but not really punk/goth.
LOL!
I kinda thought I knew what she meant. All I knew was it was suppose to be accenting high end designer clothing.
Anyway, I had a blast making this literally from scratch.
Both pieces are completely hand made by me.
The first piece I experimented with a cotton twill. I Liked that it was a little more firm.
The second piece I used a delicate sheer Silk Chiffon.
I was in LOVE with both of them! ...not to sound stuck up... I was just really happy with the finished designs!
LOL!!!!
These are pieces that I would wear if i was still working out of the house.
...now I sit in t-shirts and sweats at home.
LOL!
Anyway, Enjoy!
As soon as I get pics of the actual shoot I will TOTALLY share them!

New Bridal Necklace: Opulent Charlotte

I've been getting several requests for more of my heirloom pieces and it's just the matter of having time to make some. They are pretty time consuming so I have to fit them in between orders.
:P
I noticed a few of my clients as well as myself don't always want the focal so close to the neck so I decided to make a piece with the focal lower. It's quite gorgeous on. I like how it accents the asymmetrical quality of the design and still holds that retro vintage feel. It's lovely how the focal sits below the clavicle instead of on it or above like several of my other designs.
I just listed it in my Etsy shop!

New Pieces...

...okay, maybe not all "NEW NEW" but newly revised.
You know how I am always talking about how I have like 60-80 pieces not listed yet just sitting in my storage areas! I get sidetracked (A.D.D. seriously, I have that) with orders and such or the weather isn't giving me good lighting...or I just couldn't figure out how to color correct the photos...and the list of excuses goes on! I really do have pieces I made for New Years 2008. So ridiculous! I was freaking out so much with the knocking off of my stuff I wanted to copyright them first and then I just forgot about them! I'm a freak I know and I have gotten A LOT better about not looking to see who's knocking me off anymore. It wasn't worth the grief!
LOL!
So that's why you'll see some pieces reminiscent of not soo long ago designs.
I'm in the process of listing them so you should find them in my Etsy shop soon!

Slow Sailing...but still designing new pieces!

Yeah, still dealing with the eczema.
Sometimes I can't even leave the apartment I'm so uncomfortable.
ANYWAY, *thinking positive* I know I need to get myself back on the blogging wagon!
lol

I've been busy just trying to settle into my new apartment and make rent!
:P
OH, BTW, I just have to say that I was rented this apartment and told it had air conditioning...remember the few posts ago about getting it fixed? Well, there is NO AIR CONDITIONING INSTALLED IN THIS APARTMENT! Even though, before I moved I was VERBALLY TOLD BY THE MANAGER that it had both central air AND heat.
Now, after the years of reading this blog...and knowing my health issues...DOES ANYONE THINK I WOULD RENT AN APARTMENT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THAT DID NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING?
UH...HELLO?!!!!
Yeah...I'll keep you all informed.
I'll also add, I can't afford to move again.

OK!
Now FUN STUFF!!!!

So, I have been busy creating new designs for my clients and wanted to share!
I always like the vintage vibe and when I hand dyed this piece I kept that in mind. I like how old photos make color muted and soft. This pink is almost a "bush" tone.

Here are a few that have already sold but I thought you might want to see them any way.

Absent...Itching....and being miserable

Sorry everyone.
It's been almost a month since I have moved and I am having a REALLY difficult time acclimating to this warmer weather. Any of you that know me know I suffer from SEVERE eczema that actually caused me to be bedridden for a year and housebound for another 2 after that! The cooler weather up north helped me heal and I was doing A LOT better but needed to relocate back down here to Southern California. I found a place 10 blocks from the ocean but the humidity and 10 degrees on average hotter is getting the best of me. It was over 80 degrees yesterday and for me that's a kiss of death! I KNOW it's NOT THAT HOT compared to "HOT" but for me personally, anything over 70-74 is too hot for my skin. Around 68 is perfect for me. lol. Up north it averaged between 55-65 so it worked.
Anyway, my air conditioning is broken and I am waiting to get it fixed...itching, flaring and using cold wet towels and a fan to try and keep cool.
Thus, the lack of posts!
I am literally just trying to get orders made and shipped!
I know everyone knows how difficult to get anything done when you feel miserable!
I promise to get back into the groove when I feel better!
There is just SO MUCH wonderful stuff to be sharing!!!!!
Thanks for your understanding!!!
